DUBAI / YEREVAN – Starting July 2025, residents of the United Arab Emirates can pack their bags—and their jackets—as Armenia opens its doors visa-free to all UAE residents, regardless of nationality. Previously, UAE residents had to apply for visas depending on their passport origin, but under the new bilateral travel agreement signed this month, residency in the UAE is now sufficient to enter Armenia without a visa for stays of up to 180 days per year. This move significantly eases travel for millions of expatriates living in the Emirates—from India and the Philippines to Egypt and Pakistan—offering a convenient and affordable European-style getaway just a few hours’ flight from the Gulf.

Government Reactions
Armenian and Emirati officials hailed the agreement as a milestone in regional diplomacy and cultural exchange.
“This is more than a travel deal—it’s a bridge between our peoples,” said Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, adding that the new policy is expected to boost tourism and bilateral investment.
The UAE’s travel sector has also welcomed the news, with agencies already preparing Armenia packages tailored to UAE residents, including halal-friendly tours, Arabic-speaking guides, and winter escape deals.
Travel Tips
While no visa is required, travelers must present a valid UAE residence permit at the border along with their passport. A return ticket, proof of accommodation, and travel insurance are recommended.
And yes—don’t forget your jackets. Armenia’s cool mountain climate can dip well below 10°C, especially outside of summer months—a refreshing change for Gulf residents used to triple-digit heat.
