As part of Isola Edipo and the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, acclaimed director Anatoly Balchev will present his latest film, “Vysotsky. Unknown… a True Story,” as a special event screening.

Sala Laguna (Via Pietro Buratti, 1 – Lido di Venezia) Friday, September 5, 2025 – 6:00 PM

Featuring previously unseen footage and rare testimonies, the film reveals untold episodes from the life of Vladimir Vysotsky — the Rebel Poet, Bard, and Artist whose influence reached far beyond Russia, leaving a mark on France, the United States, Canada, Italy, and Mexico throughout the 1960s and 70s. His art — in theater, cinema, and poetry — was forged through hardship and defiance, and his legacy remains a subject of debate, admiration, and inspiration today.

The screening will take place in the presence of Anatoly Balchev, offering audiences a unique cultural experience that bridges generations with the enduring voice and image of Vysotsky.

The project is proudly supported by Anna Stukkert, underlining its international significance and the importance of sharing Vysotsky’s story with new audiences worldwide.
