Dubai’s tourism sector has achieved unprecedented growth in 2024, with the city welcoming 18.72 million international visitors, marking a 9% increase compared to the previous year. This significant achievement was reported by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), as shared by China Daily, a partner of TV BRICS.
A major factor driving this growth is the surge in visitors from China. Dubai saw 824,000 Chinese tourists in 2024, reflecting a 31% increase from the previous year, which highlights the growing interest in the city from the Chinese market.
Dubai has implemented several initiatives to enhance the travel experience, including convenient payment solutions and a range of cultural events designed to attract international tourists. For instance, during the 2025 Spring Festival, the city hosted various celebratory events, including light shows and concerts, further strengthening its appeal as a global tourism hub.
